Hazrat Adam (A.S.) – The First Journey of Humanity

Allah made Hazrat Adam (Alaihissalam) the first human of mankind. His life, his status, and every event connected to him teaches us lessons about the true purpose of life and learning from mistakes. Let's understand his complete story in the light of the Qur'an and Hadith.

---

🌍 1. The Creation of Human – The Creation of Adam A.S.

After creating everything – the sky, the earth, Paradise, angels, water, air – Allah decided to create a khalifa (vicegerent) on Earth.

📖 The Qur’an says (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:30):

"I will place a vicegerent on the Earth."

The angels were surprised:

"O Allah! Will You place someone who will cause bloodshed and corruption?"

Allah said:

"I know what you do not know."

📌 This verse shows us that Allah knows best, and a human's intention and will are their true identity.

---

🧱 2. So How Did Allah Create Adam A.S.?

Allah took soil from different parts of the Earth – some black, some white, some red, some yellow – so that humans would also be of different colors, temperaments, and thinking.

He then mixed that soil with water to make a paste (leham).

He shaped it into a human form.

Then He breathed His spirit into it – this spirit from Allah is what made humans superior to angels.

📖 (Surah Al-Hijr 15:29):

"And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him My spirit, then fall down in prostration to him."

📌 This teaches us the honor and status of humans – a human is not just a body but a soul as well.

---

😇 3. The Prostration of Angels and Iblees' Disobedience

When Allah gave Adam A.S. a soul, He commanded all the angels to prostrate. They all did – except Iblees.

Iblees said:

"I am better than him; You created me from fire and him from clay."

He showed arrogance and broke Allah's command. Allah expelled him from Paradise.

📖 (Surah Al-A'raaf 7:13):

"Then get out from Paradise; surely you are of the arrogant ones."

📌 Arrogance distances one from the mercy of Allah. Iblees was a worshipper, but his pride earned him eternal curse.

---

👫 4. The Creation of Hazrat Hawwa A.S.

To remove Adam A.S.’ loneliness, Allah created a woman from his rib – her name was Hawwa (A.S.).

They lived together in Paradise, allowed to enjoy everything except one tree.

📖 (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:35):

"You both dwell in Paradise and eat freely, but do not approach this tree."

📌 From this, we learn that every system has boundaries, and crossing Allah’s limits leads to consequences.

---

🍏 5. The Sin – Deception of Iblees

Iblees deceived them:

"This tree will make you live forever or turn you into angels."

Adam and Hawwa A.S. ate from the tree. As a result:

  • Their clothing was removed
  • They felt shame
  • Allah commanded them to descend from Paradise to Earth

📖 (Surah Ta-Ha 20:121):

"They both tasted the fruit, and their private parts became apparent, and they began covering themselves with leaves of Paradise."

📌 Every sin has not just a physical impact but a spiritual one too. Shame after wrongdoing is a sign of a living conscience.

---

😭 6. Message of Repentance and Forgiveness

Hazrat Adam A.S. and Hawwa A.S. wept and sincerely repented.

Their dua is mentioned in the Qur’an (Surah Al-A’raaf 7:23):

"Rabbana, zalamna anfusana wa illam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakoonanna minal khaasireen."

“O our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers.”

Allah accepted their repentance but still sent them to Earth because now Earth was the place of test.

📌 Repentance is the true weapon of humans. Allah accepts every sincere repentance.

---

🌏 7. The First Journey on Earth

Hazrat Adam A.S. was sent down to Sri Lanka (Jabal e Serendib).

Hazrat Hawwa A.S. was sent to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

After many years, they met again at the Plain of Arafat.

They taught farming, living, clothing, and marriage to people – he was the first Prophet of mankind.

📌 The first civilization, the first life, the first system – all began under the guidance of Hazrat Adam A.S.

---

👨‍👦 8. His Children – The Story of Qabeel and Habeel

Among Adam A.S.’ children, Qabeel killed Habeel.

This is mentioned in the Qur’an. It happened during a sacrificial offering:

  • Habeel offered sincerely, and Allah accepted his sacrifice.
  • Qabeel, out of jealousy, killed his brother.

📖 (Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:31):

"Then Allah sent a crow that scratched the ground to show him how to hide his brother's corpse."

📌 The first murder, the first jealousy, the first regret – this story reflects the pain and emotions within humans.

---

⏳ 9. The Death of Hazrat Adam A.S.

Hazrat Adam A.S. lived for about 1000 years.

After his death, he was buried in the ground.

The first funeral and burial in Islam also began with him.

📌 Time passes, but lessons remain – the real home of humans is the Hereafter.

---

🕊️ Conclusion – What Do We Learn?

From the story of Hazrat Adam A.S., we learn:

  • Every human makes mistakes, but Allah forgives sincere repentance.
  • Pride is disliked by Allah; Iblees was cursed because of it.
  • Knowledge, patience, gratitude, and repentance are the essence of humanity.
  • The world is a place of test; true Paradise is in the Hereafter.

📌 Even today, if humans understand the lessons of Adam A.S., life can be enlightened and character can be reformed.
