🌙 5 Pillars of Islam (Five Pillars of Islam – پانچ رکنِ اسلام)
The foundation of Islam is based on 5 pillars. It is obligatory for every Muslim to believe in them and act upon them. These five pillars are not just rules, but the actual system of a Muslim’s life.
---
🕋 1. Shahada (Shahaadat – شَہَادَت)
“La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasoolullah”
(لَا إِلٰہَ إِلَّا اللّٰہُ، مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ)
📌 Meaning: There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad ﷺ is the Messenger of Allah.
🔸 This is the first and most fundamental pillar of Islam.
🔸 Shahada means belief in the oneness of Allah and the prophethood of the Messenger ﷺ.
🔸 One must accept this statement with the heart, declare it with the tongue, and prove it through actions.

🕌 2. Salah (Namaz – صَلَاة / نَماز)
It is obligatory to offer 5 daily prayers:
1. Fajr (فَجر) – Morning
2. Zuhr (ظُہر) – Afternoon
3. Asr (عَصر) – Late Afternoon
4. Maghrib (مَغرب) – After sunset

🔸 Prayer keeps a person away from evil.
🔸 It teaches patience, gratitude, and piety.
🔸 Each prayer has its specific time and virtue.

💰 3. Zakat (Zakaat – زَکَاة)
Giving a small portion of your wealth to the needy.
🔸 Every Muslim who possesses wealth above the nisab threshold must give 2.5% of it as Zakat once a year.
🔸 It is purification of wealth.
🔸 Its purpose is to help the poor and reduce love for material wealth.
🔸 Zakat promotes humanity and equality.

🌙 4. Roza (Sawm – صَوم / رَوزَہ)
Fasting during the month of Ramadan is obligatory.
🔸 From Suhoor to Iftar, nothing is eaten or drunk.
🔸 Fasting is not just avoiding food and drink, but also refraining from sins.
🔸 The true purpose of fasting is to attain piety.
🔸 It promotes patience, self-control, and closeness to Allah.

🕋 5. Hajj (حَجّ)
It is obligatory to perform Hajj once in a lifetime (if a person is capable).
🔸 Hajj is performed once a year during the month of Zul Hijjah.
🔸 Every Muslim who has financial and physical ability must perform it.
🔸 The rituals of Hajj include Tawaf, Sa'i, standing at Arafah, staying in Mina, and offering sacrifice.
🔸 Hajj reminds one of equality, patience, and remembrance of Allah.
